Death-metal punks go surfing in Terry Hall's gobsmacking video for Muse's Supremacy, which features some of the best original surfing footage ever captured for a music video - plus a pulsating performance by the band."The band's performance was shot in the most amazing house in the hills above Malibu. It was designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright's grandson Eric in the mid 80s but was never finished. It is this huge modernist, concrete shell that has the most amazing aspect looking out over the Pacific."The surf had been completely flat all week so we were insanely lucky that the biggest swell they'd had in two years coincided with the second day of our shoot. It was about 8ft - 10ft on the big sets and at times the surfers and cameraman were getting absolutely hammered. The conditions were so good that one of the best surfers in the world, Dane Reynolds, showed up."

Marc &amp; Ish's work originates in fine art and experimental architecture and have collaborated with David LaCapelle, Dita Von Teese, Zaha Hadid. The team worked with BBH, Weiden + Kennedy, Publicis and have been commissioned by Channel 4 and More4. 
Their debut for Love is this fun and raunchy promo for Marina &amp; The Diamonds which sees singer Marina having a wee get-together with a bunch of semi-naked men in the shower...

"The idea was to make the opposite of the super high glossy official video and copy the sort of thing that gets unearthed on Youtube - like old episodes of Top of the Pops or the Chart Show." says Dan. " I wanted to try and emulate the track, dissolves, Kaleidoscopes, etc. of Seventies and Eighties pop TV. It was then subtitled to add an extra element of weirdness and dumped onto VHS. 
"Either that, or its Marina &amp; The Diamonds' debut TV performance shot during a stint of work experience 15 years ago on an Estonian TV show called Pop! You decide."

"We had puppet legs and arms made for Marina that she then wore on the shoot so we could get it all in camera. The shoot was very funny with a lovely team of puppeteers all dancing around in white body socks as they controlled Marina's puppet limbs with sticks and fishing wire, all choreographed by Natricia Bernard. Then Gary Brown at Munky and an army of flame artists worked 27 hours a day painting out Marina and the dancers' real legs and arms and putting in a new shadow for her. I have to say a huge thank you to everyone who worked on the video, it was a lot of fun".

As well as their new short film Mariachi!, Phil and Olly of Diamond Dogs have been busy with new promos recently - firstly a fine performance vid for <a href="http://www.hsilondon.co.uk/clip.aspxid=857">Hockey</a>, and now Phil Sansom has directed this Mod-tastic clip for The Enemy.
And how perfect for Whitsun Bank Holiday. Phil and his team - including top DoP guy Will Bex and top stylist lady Hannah Glossop - recreate those halcyon days when young people wore well-cut clothes, had decent haircuts, and 45 years ago today were heading off on their Vespas to Brighton for a weekend of purple hearts and pitched battles on the seafront.
Young hearts run free.

The Enemy's latest anthem is stadium-size expansive, but Rankin &amp; Chris Cottam have gone the other way - encasing the band in a box, where they have to face waves of well hard, good old British hate - plus the odd moment of adulation.
A thoughtful concept to reflect the song's stoic, 'take it like a man' theme, and an excellent team supporting R&amp;C makes it work - including Denzil Armour-Brown's cinematography, Gareth McEwan's editing, Dan Betteridge's box, and the legendary Sue Hiller producing.
