The acclaimed director cut his teeth making a stream of joyous music videos, and the next Preservation Society meeting at The Mildmay Club will revisit these fantastic works and discover the meticulous planning behind his creativity - with another deep-dive into music video history. 

Music Video Preservation Society returns to The Mildmay Club in North London on Thursday, January 29th, with another big screen celebration of the artform and cultural phenomenon of the music video, with another great British music video director as the special guest - Dougal Wilson.

The director behind many much-loved commercials (including several for John Lewis), ingenious promos for Channel Four (most recently for the new series of Educating Yorkshire) and now movies - his debut feature is the marvellous Paddington In Peru - Dougal Wilson is also an all-time great British music video director.

His credits including brilliant videos for The Streets, Dizzee Rascal, Goldfrapp, Coldplay, Jarvis Cocker, Temper Trap and many more. Already one of the most-featured directors at MVPS meetings so far, much more of his pop video work will be screened at the Mildmay Club on January 29th, with the additional pleasure of having Dougal talk about how he made them, offering insight to the meticulous planning that goes into his creative practice. It promises to be highly enlightening as well as richly entertaining.

MVPS host David Knight will also present another selection of brilliant music videos from across the decades on the big screen, and telling some stories about them, in the convivial surroundings of the main hall at The Mildmay.
