Music Video Preservation Society on June 27th with legendary director Walter Stern
Promonews - 12th June 2025
Walter Stern, director of classic music videos for The Prodigy, Massive Attack, The Verve and many more, will be the special guest at the summer edition of Music Video Preservation Society at The Mildmay Club, Newington Green, London on Friday, June 27th.
Regarded as a pioneering director in music videos, by introducing cinematic storytelling techniques into the medium, Walter will be talking to Promonews editor and UKMVAs editorial director David Knight about his career, and making some of the most iconic videos ever made - including The Prodigy's Firestarter and Massive Attack's Teardrop.
This will be part of another meeting of Music Video Preservation Society that explores the creativity and cultural importance of the music video from its earliest incarnations, featuring videos from the 1970s to the present day on the big screen. Tickets for the show are on sale now.
It follows events at The Mildmay in the past year that have included interviews with directors Tim Pope, LOOSE, Jamie Thraves and Adam Smith, musician Mark Bedford from Madness and costume designer Michelle May. Music Video Preservation Society also recently held its first meeting at The Prince Charles Cinema in the West End, with special guest Luna Carmoon.
As previously, the next Music Video Preservation Society meeting on Friday June 27th takes place in the stylish main hall of the Mildmay Club, legendary location for numerous music video and movie shoots. Details about more guests and the programme of the fourth Music Video Preservation Society coming soon.
• Tickets are on sale to Mildmay Club members and non-members here. More information here
