There are now five days left (from today, August 3rd) to enter work in most of the awards categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2023, the premiere awards show for music video creativity in Britain and beyond, via the UKMVAs website.

This includes the section of 18 Best Video awards. Each music genre – Pop, R&B/Soul, Dance/Electronic, Rock, Alternative and Hip Hop/Grime/Rap – each offers three awards: one for UK, International and Newcomer videos.

Each video can only be entered into one of the above categories. A UK award is given to a video for a UK artist, an International award is given to a video for a non-UK artist, and a Newcomer award is given to a video for either a UK or International artist made for a budget under GB£10,000 (or non-sterling equivalent), and are designed to recognise newcomer directing talent.

Each video has to be have been completed and delivered to the commissioning company between the dates of August 1st 2021 and August 8th 2023 - the date of the entry deadline. There is a slight crossover with the eligibility dates for last year's awards, but work that was entered last year cannot be entered again this year. The final entry deadline to enter work is this coming Tuesday, August 8th, at midnight BST. All work must be registered and uploaded by that time.

The first round of judging for this year’s UKMVAs begins approximately a week after the entry deadline – invitations to Jury Members to participate in the online judging round on the MVA judging platform are in the process of being sent out.

With the second round of judging scheduled for next month, all nominations for the UK Music Video Awards 2023 will be announced in late September. 

The UK Music Video Awards ceremony and aftershow party will take place at Magazine London, near O2 Arena, on Thursday, October 26th 2023.
