The latest episode of The Promonews Podcast - Talking Music Videos has just been released, with David and Rob of Promonews in conversation with a director with a very distinctive take on the pop video genre - Tash Tung. 

She is the director of videos for Bree Runway, Medusa, MK, Dodi, Shaybo and Jorja Smith, Lucinda Chua and more, and since her breakthrough in the mid 2010s, Tash Tung has brought her own style to pop videos - which is often regarded as more understated or intimate than other directors in a similar field.

On this episode of the Promonews Podcast - produced in association with Loop Talent - Tash Tung talks about bringing her sensitive style to the pop video genre in various ways, how that helps pop stars present another side of themselves, her use of choreography to convey emotion - and why she cast herself in her video for Sega Bodega.

Having directed a number of live videos as well as the more conventional variety, she explains how that experience helped in making her lonform for Dodi, Live In The Attic; and the importance of having established a personal relationship with Shaybo when directing the My Sister video, featuring Jorja Smith. And she talks about exploring identity and specifically her Malaysian heritage, with musician and friend Lucinda Chua. And having broken into the world of commercials she reveals her ambitions for the future.
