A new episode of The Promonews Podcast is out today, featuring South African cinematographer Rick Joaquim, who is now establishing himself in the UK, with increasingly high profile work in music videos and beyond.

Born in Johannesburg, Rick Joaquim learned his craft working in various forms of filmmaking in South Africa, from narrative and documentary, to commercials and music videos. Then he moved to the UK with his family at the start of 2021, at the height of the pandemic.

His conversation with Promonews' David Knight and Rob Ulitski covers his career in South Africa and the upheaval of the past year or so, establishing himself in the UK scene on work including videos for KSI and Clean Bandit, and gives some insight into his meticulous working process.
