Homespun, short film and music video division of Stitch Editing, have announced that Charlie Von Rotberg has been promoted from assistant editor to the position of full editor.

Von Rotberg has already built a strong reputation for his work editing numerous music videos, including for Skepta, Lewis Capaldi, and the UKMVA-nominated Elderbrook x Rudimental's Something About You. He has also worked with some of the most exciting directors working UK music videos, including Eoin Glaister, Olivia Rose, Luke Davies and FKA Twigs.

A graduate of the Camberwell College of Art, Von Rotberg joined Homespun three years ago. He had crossed paths with editing promos while he was the drummer in a rock band, putting together their own music videos, and then joined the company when the band took a break.

“Editing felt completely in harmony with music for me, and coming from an art and design schooling, it really struck a chord," he explains. "Once I got going with it I found the similarities to making records remarkable and very addictive."

In terms of now moving from assistant to full editor, he adds: "I’m looking forward to having a lot more creative head space - and cutting while the sun is still up [will be] a bit of a novelty.”

Commenting on his promotion, Homespun EP Alice Clarke has said: "Without a doubt Charlie is one of the most exciting young editors I’ve met in a long time. His natural ability at the craft itself is unrivalled. This is enhanced by his ease and confidence with clients and his dedication towards everything he cuts. He will definitely go far!”
