UK Music Video Awards 2019: CHEAT sponsoring two awards at UKMVAs - Best Colour Grade & Best Production Design

UK Music Video Awards 2019: CHEAT sponsoring two awards at UKMVAs - Best Colour Grade & Best Production Design

Promonews - 9th July 2019

CHEAT, the East London-based grading and finishing studio, is once again partnering this year's UK Music Video Awards. The company has also increased their support of the event, and are now sponsoring two awards at the UKMVAs 2019.

For the past four years, CHEAT have sponsored Best Colour Grading In A Video at the UKMVAs, the awards show that celebrates the greatest work and most impressive individual achievements in music video production in the UK and beyond in the past year. This year, CHEAT is sponsoring that award for the fifth year in a row. They are also sponsoring another of the other major prizes in the Technical Achievement section of the UKMVAs, for the very first time: Best Production Design In A Video.

"The UKMVAS are a highlight in the CHEAT calendar every year, celebrating the blood, sweat and tears that goes into music videos," says CHEAT founder Toby Tomkins. "We are delighted to be a sponsor again, and are excited to recognise the hard work that goes into this industry with our friends and peers."

Tomkins launched CHEAT in 2014, and has overseen its growth to being a leading name in colour grading and finishing in London, with a global reputation. Working in all forms of moving image media, from music videos and commercials, to features and TV series, CHEAT's fantastic roster of colourists use their craft to elevate the visual experience, bringing bold vision with artistic sensitivity to deliver exceptional award winning work. Tomkins' leads a team of senior colourists - Jax Harney, Jack McGinity and Tim Smith - whose work has been recognised at the UKMVAS, MTV Music Video Awards, British Arrows, BAFTA, the Oscars, and more.

"As budgets fall and expectations rise we will always stay committed to working with the amazing people working in this industry to deliver bold work to realise the bold ideas we see in music videos," continues Tomkins. "We relish the challenge to deliver powerful work alongside the directors and DOPs that we work with. We would like to wish everyone the best of luck for this year's awards. Let's party!"

Entry is now open to both the Best Colour Grading In A Video award, and the Best Production Design in a Video award, both sponsored by CHEAT, and over 30 other awards, via the UK Music Video Awards website, where you can find full information on all the categories and how to enter.

The deadline for entries is at midnight (BST) on Friday, August 2nd. Once the deadline has passed, it will be followed by two phases of judging. Online voting, begins next month, and the nominations for the UK Music Video Awards 2019 will be announced in late September.

The UK Music Video Awards 2019 takes place at the legendary Roundhouse in London on Wednesday, October 23rd 2019. More information here.
