Saatchi & Saatchi NDS 2016 - call for entries
Entries are now open for Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase 2016, to be held at the Palais des Festivals, at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on 23rd June.
The annual New Directors' Showcase is open to directors of all film formats and styles, eligible to directors who have not made any film specifically made for advertising purposes before June 2014. Potential entrants should read the guidelines for entry, before submitting a link to their work to email@example.com by 27th March.
The NDS has been a highlight of Cannes Lions since 1991, and last year celebrated its 25th anniversay with “25x25: An Experiment in Film”, featuring 25 stellar NDS alumni; Daniel Kleinman; Dawn Shadforth; Floria Sigismondi; Jonathan Glazer; Michel Gondry; Ivan Zacharias; Traktor; Dante Ariola; Ringan Ledwidge; Antoine Bardou-Jacquet; Carl Erik Rinsch; Noam Murro; Tim Bullock; Dougal Wilson; James Rouse; Jamie Rafn; Fredrik Bond; Philippe Andre; Jake Scott; Ne-o; David Wilson; Daniel Wolfe; Ilya Naishuller; Vania Heymann and Charlie Robins.
Music videos have also featured strongly at the NDS in recent years. Last year's NDS included Flying Lotus's Coronus The Terminator directed by Young Replicant, Klangkarussell's Ntezwerk by Charlie Robins (pictured above), Tiga's Bugatti by Helmi, A$AP Rocky's L$D by Dexter Navy, and The Bug's Function/Void by Factory Fifteen.
