Grammys 2015: We Are From LA win Best Music Video for Pharrell's Happy
The video for Pharrell Williams' Happy directed by We Are From LA has won the award for Best Music Video at the 57th annual Grammy Awards.
Created as an innovative interactive '24 hour' video that has a whole day's worth of original footage - and also existing in a traditional song-length cut - the video for Happy took the prize ahead of fellow nominated videos for Arcade Fire's We Exist, DJ Snake & Lil Jon's Turn Down For What, Sia's Chandelier, and Woodkid ft Max Richter's The Golden Age. The video was produced by Kathleen Heffernan, Solal Micenmacher, Jett Steiger out of Iconoclast.
In the other Grammy video award, 20 Feet From Stardom added the Music Film Award to its Academy Award best documentary win last year. The film, directed by Morgan Neville and produced by Gil Friesen & Caitrin Rogers, about great backing singers in rock, pop and R&B, saw off performance-based longforms for Beyoncé & Jay Z, Coldplay, Metallica and Pink to take the award.
Overall the biggest winners at this years Grammys was Sam Smith, who won four awards including best song for Stay With Me, and Beck, who won best album for Morning Phase.
