Alex Horne to host BUG's Full Time Hobby special on October 13th

David Knight - 29th Sept 2014

Award-winning comedian and writer Alex Horne is to host BUG's special show celebrating the music visual output of one of the UK's most respected indie labels, Full Time Hobby, at the BFI Southbank next month.

Alex, creator and host of the popular Radio 4 musical comedy show Alex Horne Presents: The Horne Section, will present BUG: FULL TIME HOBBY as part of the SONIC strand at this year’s London Film Festival, in NFT1 at the BFI Southbank on Monday, October 13th.

The show coincides with the 10th anniversary of Full Time Hobby – home to the diverse musical talents of Tunng, White Denim, The Leisure Society, Fujiya & Miyagi, Erland & The Carnival, Timber Timbre, Pinkunoizu, School of Seven Bells and more. Special guests from one or more of these bands will also join Alex on stage to discuss their videos  - to be confirmed and announced shortly.

Tickets are now on sale for BUG: FULL TIME HOBBY on Monday, October 13th from the BFI Southbank box office and the BFI website.

BUG and Full Time Hobby have also launched a Music Video Challenge, to make a music video for one of the label’s artists – the winning video to be shown on the night at the BFI, and the winning filmmaker also commissioned to make a further video for a Full Time Hobby artist.

Up-and-coming filmmakers can make a music video for one of three tracks, featured on FTH:10 compilation: The Leisure Society's The Last Of The Melting Snow, Samantha Crain's For The Miner and Tunng's The Roadside. These tracks can be downloaded free from the Soundcloud BUG Full Time Hobby video contest page.

Filmmakers who are interested in making a video for one of these tracks should read the Entry Requirements and terms and conditions attached here. Entries should be uploaded to Vimeo and YouTube, and a link submitted to info@fulltimehobby.co.uk. in order to quality for the competition, by Wednesday, October 8th.

The best video as chosen by the BUG team and Full Time Hobby co-owner Nigel Adams will be announced on Promo News on Friday October 10th, and then be screened at the BUG FTH special at the BFI Southbank on October 13th. The winning filmmaker will also be commissioned to make a music video by Full Time Hobby within the next 12 months – and also win an exclusive Full Time Hobby 10th anniversary vinyl set.
