Django Django's WOR video wins at 2013 AIM Awards
David Knight - 4th Sept 2013
The video for Django Django's WOR, directed by Jim Demuth, won the award for Independent Video of the Year at the 2013 AIM Independent Music Awards, held last night in London (September 3rd).
The video - for a track first released back in 2010 – doubles as a mini-doc about the phenomenally brave men who both ride bikes and drive cars on the Well of Death at the Maha Kumbh Mela grounds in Allahabad, India. The concept for the video came from the band's drummer and producer David Maclean, and Jim Demuth and a crew from Noisey, Vice's music channel, shot it.
Other winners at the awards, organised by the representative body of British independent record companies, were Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (breakthrough of the year; most played independent act), Enter Shikari (best live act), Vampire Weekend's Diane Young (independent track of the year), and Daughter 'Youth' (best independent album).   Â
