A new music video competition has launched that invites young people to make a video for one of four of the UK's most exciting bands, and also gives entrants the chance to understand how the professional music video industry works with a series of tutorials featuring some of the UK's top music video professionals.

A new music video competition has launched that invites young people to make a video for one of four of the UK's most exciting bands, and also gives entrants the chance to understand how the professional music video industry works with a series of tutorials featuring some of the UK's top music video professionals. The Hurtwood Prize offers 16 to 21 year olds the opportunity to make a video for either T.E.E.D., Spector, Lawson or The Maccabees. The prize is being given by Hurtwood House, an independent school renowned for its facilities for film production, and backed by Polydor Records and YouTube. The tracks - Dream On by T.E.E.D., What You Wanted by Spector, Anybody Out There by Lawson and Heave by The Maccabees - are available to download from the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/hurtwoodprize" target="_blank"><strong>Hurtwood Prize competition page</strong></a> on YouTube. Ten winners will then have the chance to attend a two day film production workshop at Hurtwood House given by a number of music video professionals. An ultimate winner will then be chosen who will have the chance to work on an official video for one of the bands.
