Vimeo has now opened its doors for submissions for the second Vimeo Festival + Awards, which takes place next summer in New York City, celebrating the best original videos online.

From now until February 20th 2012, filmmakers can submit their works for consideration in one of thirteen different categories - including Music Video. Four more categories have been added for the new event: Fashion, Action Sports, Advertising and Lyrical have been added to the original nine categories. Vimeo will award Grants of $5,000 to all of the category winners as well as awarding a Grant of $25,000 for the Grand Prize winner. Prestigious jury members have already been announced to sit on the jury deciding the winners of the newest categories: Stacy Peralta for Action Sports, David Droga for Advertising, Nick Knight for Fashion, and Phillip Bloom for Lyrical.
