3 Mills Studios - London's largest film and television studios - are sponsoring the best UK indie/rock award at the UK Music Video Awards 2011. It's the third year in succession that 3 Mills has sponsored an award at the UK MVAs. Based in East London, 3 Mills is popular with leading independent filmmakers (including Boyle, Burton, Cronenberg, Loach, Leigh and Winterbottom) and its numerous stages have played host to many music video productions down the years. In the past year video shoots for numerous British artists by leading UK production companies have taken place at 3 Mills - including Beady Eye, Example, Liam Bailey, The Saturdays, The Vaccines, Wild Beasts, Wolfgang and The Young Knives. "3 Mills Studios is delighted to sponsor the Best UK Indie/Rock video at the UK Music Video Awards," says 3 Mills' studio executive Derek Watts. "It's the perfect opportunity for us to highlight and strengthen our relationship with international and UK music talent and encourage the making on high quality music videos." Having sponsored the best indie/alternative video award at last year's MVAs, and the best pop video award in 2009, 3 Mills Studios' sponsorship of the best UK indie/rock award at the UK Music Video Awards 2011 is confirmed a few days following the deadline for entries to this and most of the other categories at this year's MVAs - and with judging about to start. Invitations are going out to Jury Members this week, as the voting portal set up by Beam for the first round round of online judging launching in the next few days. This year's UK Music Video Awards takes place at a brand new venue - the Empire, Leicester Square in London - on Tuesday November 8th. For more information about the MVAs, and for tickets, go to ukmva.com.
