Tell No One’s film Seaweed wins Guggenheim/YouTube Play award
Directing collective Tell No One - that's Remi Weekes and Luke White - won the first Guggenheim/YouTube Play biennial last week in NYC, for their beautiful 20 second film Seaweed.
One of three awards won by Gaga at the ceremony - where she also performed her new single Born This Way - the video for Bad Romance beat The Johnny Cash Project - Chris Milk's interactive video for Johnny Cash's Ain't No Grave - Gorillaz' Stylo by Jamie Hewlett and Pete Candeland, Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie by Joseph Kahn, and Cee-Lo's F*** You by Matt Stawski for the award.
The Grammy for Best Longform video went to The Doors documentary When You're Strange directed by Tom Decillo, which prevailed from a strong shortlist that included No Distance Left To Run, the Blur documentary directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern (aka thirtytwo) and Giorgio Testi, and The White Stripes' Under Great White Northern Lights, directed by Emmett Malloy.
