Breakage’s Speechless (feat. Donae’o) by Andy Hylton

Breakage’s Speechless (feat. Donae’o) by Andy Hylton

Jimmy Brown - 23rd Mar 2010

Hylton's first promo for the company is this dark psychological thriller for Breakage's rnb shuffler Speechless. Shot at Longcross studio, a former tank factory, the facility had a suitably Soviet feel. "We had some great talent on board" says Hylton "Including TV actress Michelle Bonnard (Waking the Dead, Silent Witness) Simon Dennis (DoP) and Ewan Cassidy ( Gaffer on 'Moon'). The cinematic look was inspired by anamorphic cinematography of the seventies but shot digitally on RED and Canon 5D. "The artist Donae'o did an amazing job considering he is not an actor and preferred the 'method' approach. He actually encouraged the other actors to slap him around and rough him up. He insisted on being tied to the chair, gagged and hooded to get into character. It's a shame we had to drop the water-boarding scene. I'm not sure if its exactly daytime MTV viewing!"
