Call for entries - just one month to enter straight 8, two for Rushes Soho Shorts
The deadline for entries for this year's straight 8 - the annual Super 8mm film challenge organised by Ed Sayers - is now in less than one month's time.
The deadline to this year's straight 8 - where filmmakers everywhere are challenged to make a film on a single cartridge of Super 8mm film - has been extended to March 30th.
Find out more about entering here - and now BUG has announced its support for this year's straight 8, by pledging that the best music-related entries from this year's competition will be screened at a future show of the regular music video night at the BFI Southbank.
To qualify all the soundtracks and graphic content of entries must be original, or cleared as per straight8's copyright rules - see the website for more info.
The best straight 8 films from this year will also be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and the premiere of the best entries from adland will take place at the Cannes Advertising Festival in June in a collaboration with Rushes. In addition, Rushes will also host the London premieres of all the best 2009 entries at their Soho Shorts Festival.
