C Prinz sets up a performance video in a single white room, then toys with viewers' perceptions, in her video for LA indie band The Marias. Within this space, the band's lead singer Maria Zardoya moves from what appears like a conventional live performance of the track Back To Me into a journey through the room's unorthodox layout and dimensions - including the optical effect of the window, or gap, revealing the outside world beyond the room.C Prinz's talent is to blend storytelling with raw movement, in this case to echo the song's themes of love and loss."Maria is like a timeless vessel," she says. "Her presence is something you can't quite put simple words to... magnetic and present like an otherworldly essence. And when I heard Back To Me it plunged me into that beautiful liminal space. Caught between this realm and some other."The music video we created together is a visualisation of this feeling state - a gracefully tortuous one."
