Chris Ullens returns to familiar territory to weave a mindboggling tale in stop motion animation for UK underground hiphop rapper and producer Lex Amarni.Like his videos for Fergie and Lee Ann Womack, Ullens uses dolls in The Kill 2 to tell the story of two LA girls whose addiction to doomscrolling on social media takes a terrifying turn. The result is jawdropping ultra-violence, just like in his seminal horror video, featuring a demonic teddy bear, for Two Fingers.Things get wild when the girls leave the comfort of their high-rise apartment, firstly to stock up on booze, then to meet the influencers who dominate their social feeds... and the killing spree begins. And even if the protagonists are Barbie dolls, what follows is still not for the faint-hearted. In fact, that possibly makes it worse.This pair are definitely the gruesome twosome - and the ending could not be more explosive.

Eddie Alcazar directs a gripping stop motion promo for The Weeknd - featuring the artist as a curious toddler in a haunted forest. The video for Red Terror (from latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow) follows the small child, lost in a haunted forest, eventually encounters a strange entity that forces a painful transformation.Alcazar is best known for his stop-motion creations, including his most recent feature Divinity (2023). Additionally, he collaborated with Darren Aronofsky on the short film The Vandal, starring Bill Duke, which premiered at Cannes in 2021 and caught the attention of Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd. That has led to two collaborations on Hurry Up Tomorrow.Alcazar also directed The Weeknd’s recent performance of Open Hearts on Jimmy Kimmel Live! which aired just as his album dropped. The performance serves as a prequel to Red Terror, ending with The Weeknd following a toddler version of himself out into the forest.By merging live action, stop motion and VFX, the video is groundbreaking, pushing boundaries while staying rooted in traditional animation - and radiating raw emotion.

Devon Again lives in bloody denial, in Eliot Lee's offbeat promo for Broke Mine Too. Having presumably killed her partner off-screen before the video starts, we see Devon cleaning the blood off of her face, before trying - and failing miserably - to get the corpse to partake in everyday activities with her. It's a concept that sounds horrifying when written, but Lee manages to find a surreal, almost comedic perspective that makes the video utterly captivating. With a flourish of animation and some killer set dressing and styling, it's a memorable visual with plenty of blood and (fake) guts to keep you going.
