Floria Sigismondi continues her longstanding collaboration with singer-songwriter Lawrence Rothman for Thrash The West.Shot in an old coal miner's house on 16mm and 8mm film, the video shows the artist performing in a handful of still, poignant vignettes. Intercut with a variety of static cutaways of various household items and representations of nature, the video is a metaphor for healing and coming to terms with one's past, and is shot in a beautifully desaturated and naturalistic manner. Reflecting not only on personal issues but that of the United States in a post-Trump era, the video is the first release from Lawrence Rothman’s forthcoming album, Good Morning America.
