
Mike Mills and Joe Nankin collaborate on directing a spellbinding video for the debut solo single by Porridge Radio's Dana Margolin.Stylised yet grounded, with a naturalism typcial of classic documentary filmmaking, the video for blends gentle movement and beautiful cinematography by Nankin, focusing on Dana through intimate portraiture and performance in a variety of locations in New York City. Mike Mills explains that he has been a big fan of the artist for a long time. “I have been moved by Dana Margolin’s voice, lyrics, and songs for years now," he says. "I love Dana's new solo music so much, it was exciting for me to try to make a portrait of Dana and the many spirits that run through the track."Joe Nankin adds that they were determined to provide Margolin with the showcase she and her music fully deserved.“Our idea for [the video] was to create a video that gave Dana a clean stage to stand on," he says. "With a song this beautiful and evocative, and an artist with such a strong personal aura, all we wanted to do was let them shine. It was such a joy to make.”
