Ashnikko is back in Furmaan + Vasso's extraordinary promo for Weedkiller, the title track from the long-awaited debut album. Described as a "trans-dimensional fable, a folk-tech origin story of a birth, a death and a call to emergency in the face of evil," it's safe to say there are a lot of ideas going on, and the hyperactive blend of AI, performance and visual effects is brain-meltingly addictive to watch. Tied together by the fae universe created by Ashnikko on the album, the video is cinematic, gritty and textural, with an overarching sci-fi vibe linking three distinct vignettes that makes the whole concept a true spectacle. Marvellous work by Furmaan + Vasso - who also directed the impressive new Jess Glynne video - and proof that Ashnikko is one of the most exciting artists around today, musically and visually.

A man has some painful memories reconfigured in Elliot Simpson's promo for Joel Corry and Becky Hills. In the same faux-utopic vein as previous collabs I Wish and Bed, the sci-fi concept in History proposes a world in which memories can be altered and 'put right', via a personal home visit from Joel, Becky and their futuristic arsenal of gadgets. The narrative perfectly blends the borders of surrealism and reality, and gives the artists a chance to flex their acting muscles in addition to some very filmic performance setups. Seamless and slick, the video is equal parts Black Mirror and pop promo, and is a real visual treat.

Deadpool actor Ed Skrein takes on directing duties in this high-concept sci-fi vision for CASisDEAD, featuring La Roux - who also features in the Blade Runner-esque narrative. Exploring experimentation and futuristic worlds, the video is masterfully conceptualised, with mesmerising art direction and top-notch prosthetic work, care of Stuart Richards and Vee Holt.Seamless VFX stitch the ambitious visuals together, balancing the haunting artificiality of the world on-screen, with the recognisable mementos of the world we currently inhabit. The glossy aesthetic also feels gritty and alien at times, as if a parallel world is being captured with anachronistic technology, which elevates the unsettling concept and themes.
