When the gig economy escalates to working with The Grim Reaper, a friendship forms that challenges the commodification of death, in Willem Holzer's entertaining promo for John Robert. Move It To The Side opens with the spooky soul collector himself - played by John E. Bongos - signing in to an app called Dead Drops, ready for another shift. However, he has to make a unscheduled stop, when he knocks down a pedestrian and finds himself with an 'unauthorized soul' - that's John Robert, who then joins The Reaper on his shift throughout the rest of the video. Then we have a classic buddy comedy on our hands, with plenty of sight gags - before things turn rather more serious and poignant in the final act. Holzer excels in the storytelling in his mini-movie - and marshalling a pair of excellent performances from the two Johns, Bongos and Robert.If it was Hollywood, they would be lining up a sequel...

Olivia J. Middleton's directs a road trip promo for Emma Pollock & Pippa Murphy. In the video for Monochrome, we see a young woman making her way from her rural caravan home, into the city streets of Glasgow at night. The use of experimental shutter speeds and camera movement reflects the elevated sense of adventure the protagonist is embarking on.

Ben Phillippo takes us on a road trip that isn't quite what it seems, in his hypnotic clip for Canyon City's Comets. Sometimes, no matter how far you drive, you always wind up in the same place. In this introspective promo, the main character - played by Brian J. McDonald - is seen driving around winding country roads, always ending up at the same derelict storefront. Around the midpoint, he finally escapes the Groundhog Day-style loop, but after finding a buried time capsule and finding his long-lost lover, he realises he is in another loop entirely. Beautifully structured, the emotional concept balances an unusual sense of dread with a heartwrenching love story, and perfectly embodies the affecting themes in the track.

Rupert Bryan directs an escapist fantasy for Molly Hocking's We Can Have The World Tonight. Cruising down country roads, we see Hocking perform in a classic gold Capri, as the spring sun beams through the windows. Cutting between car-mounted shots and footage from an FPV drone, the video is refreshingly understated and reflective in its tone, and engaging throughout the entirety of its four-minute runtime.

Sarah Proctor is swept into an after-dark road trip, in Harry Law's dreamy promo for Lost. Fleeing the city in search of solitude and peace, we see Sarah and her love interest live out a romantic narrative, unlike those usually show on-screen. "I'd turn on the TV and never really connect with what I was seeing on the shows and in the movies. That's why I've always wanted to make a little love story of my own, the way I would have wanted to see it," Proctor notes. Simon Plunket's ethereal cinematography reflects the idealistic nature of young love, using soft, tranquil shots to build a tapestry of moments that visualise the flourishing romance - perfectly complemented by the striking backdrops out in nature and by the sea.

Sleepy Soul go on a musical road trip in Dustie Carter's promo for new release Self. Deeply introspective, the track explores the loneliness and insecurity that accompanies the artist's experience of being in their mid twenties. The coming of age themes are paired with an understated, laidback promo that gives viewers a glimpse into the duo's world, as their car drives down the narrow roads of a small Midwestern highway, in Saint Louis, Missouri.Regular collaborator Mike Dalton lays down a desaturated, soft aesthetic that balances dreamy vibes with a sense of uncomfortable realism, which is a perfect fit for the angsty concept.

B2 direct a breezy, nostalgic promo for Izzy Bizu's tribute to a classic British sports car, MG. Exuding Americana and late 70's aesthetics, B2 focus on the journey, a thrill-ride where Izzy and her man stop off at some characteristic spots - including a diner and old fashioned gas station.The creative team have redressed a handful of UK locations to look as if they were shot Stateside - no easy feat, and testament to some excellent art direction from Sasha Webster. And of course, it takes place mostly in the front seat of an MG car - keeping the namesake of the track front and centre. An ambitious concept with great execution and a feelgood vibe.

Joshua Trigg directs a story of grief, love and loss in an emotionally affecting video for Foxes.The concept of the Friends In The Corner video follows two best friends - played by Natasha Trigg and Zara Gabbidon - as they take a road trip across the British countryside, living life in the moment and surrendering to the adventure ahead. Shot in a documentary fashion, DoP Max Witting captures an innate sense of wonder and authentic love between friends. And a quick cameo from Foxes as a tattoo artist is an inspired choice.
