Dominican/Brazilian artist Jarina De Marco and her pal Mediopicky embrace the power of the humble potato in the highly entertaining video directed by US directing duo MAMA. In the video for Pelame La Papa, we're thrust into a crowded factory floor, where the purpose of the potato-based activity on the production line looks rather shady. And that's confirmed when one of the hamzad-suited factory workers takes a lick of a partly peeled spud. That prompts an immediate reaction of involuntary spasms, quickly followed by more workers taking a lick and succumbing to the same jerky movements - falling under the spell of the poundingly propulsive track.Soon Jarina and Mediopicky appear - in giant potato costumes. And while the factory is raided by two cops who themselves succumb to the frenzy, and lead a dance routine of hypnotised workers, the pair make off with the ill-gotten gains. It's a video that is as relentlessly energetic as the track and as daftly addictive, expertly mounted and beautifully executed by MAMA - that's Mark Potoka and Matt Starr Spicer, who have already built a reputation with their creative commercials involving bold comedic worlds teetering on the edge of chaos. They recently joined The Sweetshop for representation in UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
