Spencer Young creates a rich display of vivid images to symbolise positive messages of joy, aspiration and strength in Obongjayar's Try. The director, who has recently signed to Hello Love, has created a series of portraits of the London-based Nigerian singer-songwriter for the first release from his upcoming debut album. Some of the most striking imagery shows Obongjayar and his brightly, regally dressed dancers standing still and strong - as if in defiance of Young's backdrop of evocative, billowing skies.In contrast to a sense of imposing majesty, drive and ambition that is evoked in those moving still life portraits is the innocence of a young boy who observes Obangjayar on his TV.
