Rob Akin directs a melancholic portrait of stifling loneliness within a marriage, in his video for Jorja Smith's Home. The concept of 'home' can mean different things to different people - for some, it's a physical location, for others, it's a feeling of warmth and safety within a relationship. In the video, Akin explores emotional disconnection between a woman and her husband. On the outside, it seems they have it all - a beautiful home, a happy child and a lavish lifestyle. But beneath the surface, deep cracks are forming, and Smith bears witness to the turmoil, in her role as a Nanny within the family dynamic. It's a poignant emotional rollercoaster, with Akin's subtle direction emphasising the role of the unhappy wife, played by Kattreya Smith. Jorja Smith - who was the creative director on the project - also does a top-notch job with her supporting role, flexing her acting chops in an inspired yet naturalistic manner.

Niall Trask brings a vintage feel, and a hint of a nautical ghost story, in his atmospheric video for Nadine Shah's Trad. Shah plays the captain and sole crew of a vessel at sea - who is also evidently a bride. And it turns out she is not alone. The abstract imagery has a hint of a narrative, just enough to tease viewers into their own readings of the concept, but it's very much open to interpretation. DoP Rob Jarvis brings a gritty and textured style to the aesthetic, paying homage to vintage cinema with the film stock and traditional lighting setups. Deeply visceral in a somewhat understated way, the haunting concept and isolated location help elevate the sense of drama and mystery, highlighting Trask's skill in building suspense through character.

Michael Baldwin has captured singer Andy Brown's touching wedding proposal - in the form of a music video - for his band Lawson's song Where My Love Goes.Handsomely shot by two camera crews, the video features the band playing in a church, performing the romantic ballad while Joey - Andy's unsuspecting girlfriend - takes pictures. Then, towards the end of the song, some lovely lighting signage in cursive is revealed, asking for her hand in marriage. (Aww.)The heartwarming little video was elegantly pulled off through plenty of planning, as Michael Baldwin explains: "Andy wanted to capture the surprise of the proposal in-camera so we had to plan the day like a wedding itself to make sure we didn't blow our 'cover.' I didn't want to be responsible for messing up his moment! It all went according to plan (phew) and I think the emotion of the day - and relief - was captured in the final video."

"Life is just a series of moments" is a truism that has been humorously illustrated by Benjamin Mège and Jean-Philippe Chartrand - aka Dent de Cuir - in their video for Breakbot's Get Lost.In real time, the action in this little story would take only a few seconds, but the promo sees the story build as a series of rythmic, gif-like repetitions of key moments between a couple's pronouncement of marriage and their first kiss as newlyweds.Turns out, a lot of unfortunate things can happen in a few seconds, namely the bride being exposed as a cheater and the best man getting sucker-punched. But at least the altar boy had a good day!
