Dappy pays homage to life before fame, in Labi Odebunmi's cinematic short film for Intro. Touching upon how artists juggle their music careers and personal life, the autobiographical narrative depicts a young Dappy going through life in Camden, navigating the various challenges and roadblocks along the way. Odebunmi cleverly contrasts lavish performance setups with grittier, authentic vignettes from the streets, highlighting the hustle that got the artist to where he is today. Each character in the story is brilliantly cast, encompassing the emotional rollercoaster of the journey, while DoP Arran Green matches the high-energy concept with stylised lighting and handheld camera movement.
