Texas are back and Niall Trask directs a charming promo for the band featuring frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri alongside actor Robert Carlyle, sauntering through the breathtaking scenery of the Scottish Highlands. The video for Another Way To Cry features Spiteri and Carlyle in a reworking of an important scene in the movie that inspired the band's name - Paris, Texas - transposed to Glen Co, with Carlyle paying tribute, in his baseball cap and suit jacket, to Harry Dean Stanton. “I hit it off with Sharleen and the band, first and foremost; through a mutual appreciation of Thierry Henry<' Trask explains. "The band were very clear from the get go about what they wanted to do. The band's name comes from Paris, Texas and they wanted to borrow the mimic scene, but shoot against the backdrop of the band's Scottish home. And I was more than happy to facilitate."Robert Carlyle was in one of my favourite films of all time - Ravenous - and he told me some amazing stories about shooting that. I was behind the camera acting out the mimicking counterpart for him, it was an honour being told to f*** off by acting royalty when I tried to get him to do a cartwheel."I’m very grateful to have been given the opportunity to direct legitimate full blown legends in such a beautiful part of the world. Thank you Sharleen, Johnny and PIAS.”
