Cian Godfrey - aka Somebody's Child - reflects on childhood aspirations in the sombre promo for Broken Record. Shifting between a young version of the artist in his childhood home, and an apathetic, beaten-down present day version, the video explores Cian's disappointment in the way his life has turned out. The vibrant, colourful aesthetic of youth soon turns grey and blue, reflecting the change in mood and loss of hope, instead presenting life as a dull cycle of misery and regret. Interestingly, however, it could be argued that one of his dreams has come true, in the form of Godfrey being a fully-fledged musical artist. Indeed, when the visual intercuts between the performance setup and his younger self rocking out to an untold track, things start to feel much more hopeful and less depressing than might have been suggested.

Daniel Broadley directs a breezy performance promo for Pixey. In the video for I'm Just High, we see the artist hanging out in her bedroom, performing and posing until she gets whisked away to an outdoor fantasy land, stacked high upon a pile of mattresses and eventually floating out in a body of water.The evocative visual is a sun-soaked dream, and harks back to late 90's/early 00's nostalgia, but with a refreshing, understated twist. An absorbing watch and perfect introduction to the Liverpool-based singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist.

Madeline Clayton directs a poignant promo for US-based Australian singer-songwriter Indigo Sparke. The video for Pressure In My Chest depicts Indigo trapped inside her bedroom - a person's most intimate space to dream, rest, grieve, and make love. The artist and director worked with movement director and choreographer Robert Vail, who facilitated the creation of a space for the artist to use her body as another instrument for storytelling. The movement and expression in the music video are emotional rather than choreographed, intuitive and improvised.The concept is a stirring, intimate study of the artist, without the shield of glossy filters or supporting characters, which creates a very raw, vulnerable vibe. “Creating this music video with Indigo was born out of our interest and exploration of an artist grappling with her own emotional and mental suffering and how complex that relationship can be," says Madeline Clayton."When I first heard Pressure In My Chest I was just blown away by the stoicism that came from a woman speaking quite vulnerably about her emotional turmoil, anxiety, and mental health. I really wanted to create a music video for Indigo that showcased her strength as a woman and as an artist and her unique perspective and relationship with her mental health.”

Fickle Friends channel the frustrations of 2020 into an exuberant and vibrant performance, in Callum Lloyd-James' mesmerising promo for IRL. Inside an eye-catching, vividly-furnished bedroom set, the band relish the opportunity of being back together again, gleaming with optimism and hope for a more social future.“IRL has such a great energy so we knew we wanted to create a performance video," says the band's lead vocalist Natti Shiner. “It feels like we are living in a virtual reality right now and we kinda wanted to mirror that idea with the illustrated parts of the set. Our bedrooms have become a safe haven in this time, a place to be creative and a space to reflect."We have missed playing music with each other so much it felt pretty special to be reunited and do that in a (fake) bedroom, surrounded by the most awesome team of creative minds.”
