Part of the 44 minute film to accompany the new Coldplay album Moon Music, the visual for the track ALIEN HITS/ALIEN RADIO is a glorious compendium of creativity in a variety of styles - mostly animation - by 28 creatives supervised by Blinkink director Isabel Garrett.

The film combines live action, 2D animation, pencil drawn and hand painted animation, stop-motion, documentary and a variety of styles and techniques to tell an expansive but delicate story of togetherness, brought together in a mosaic-like structure.  

The animators and directors are Katy Wang, Mdhamiri á Nkemi, John Davies, Dead Tempo Visions, Alexander Handschuh, Jenny Lucia Mascia, Daniel Quirke, Lizzy Hobbs, Dong A, Zach Tavel, Mario Radev, Neil Bromhall, Ben Reed and Siôn Marshall-Waters, David McShane, Ainslie Henderson, Roberto Telles, Tearjerker, Sam Gainsborough, Edin Whitehead, Camila Guerreiro, Alice Saey, Hirotoshi Iwasaki, Will Wightman, Maissa Lihedheb, Maissa Lihedheb, Joe Clarke, Sif Lina Lambæk and Studio Gruff. 

Premiered earlier this month, the ALIEN HITS/ALIEN RADIO visual follows the patchwork-quilt style that characterises the visuals throughout the Moon Music film - and was first employed in the UKMVA-winning video for Coldplay's feelikeimfallinginlove, directed by Raman Djafari, featuring the work of numerous animators around the world, and also produced by Blinkink. 

Perhaps how this and the other new films differ from DJafari's is that although the individual parts are beautiful in themselves, but are not drawn together in a particularly seamless way - the differences and juxtapositions between them is part of the bigger message.
