An exceptional film by Turkish director Berat Tunç for Barış Demirel, about the process of grieving, and lots more besides.

The video for Adam takes place during a ritual of mourning in the immediate aftermath of a young man's death. Tunç does a brilliant job at setting a domestic scene, with the people that the deceased has left behind - the mother, the male friend, the sister (or female friend) who is bonded to both.

Tunç leaves a lot open to interpretation - perhaps a function of the political climate in Turkey in which the film was made. Ultimately it's as good an example of short dramatic filmmaking in a video as you're likely to see this year.
