Being both super-cool and completely grounded is not easy but Oscar Boyson hits the sweet spot in his video for the returning Phoenix, plus Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, for Tonight.

Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars and the rest of the band are in Paris, of course, while Koenig is hanging out in Tokyo. The screen is split throughout to accommodate footage from both cities, including performances from the artists. It's smoothly cosmopolitan, with simple visual tricks bringing the two elements together, and the cinematography by DoP Zack Spiger is marvellous.

The way its made also gives the sense of work being done, and the song actually being created. It's artful but it also feels authentic.
