Bristol based synth-pop outfit Pocket Sun team up with director Jamie Luke Milligan for the ethereal video for Wake Up.

The promo sees Gina Tratt - the singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and visual artist who leads Pocket Sun - stranded in the middle of a field with her car and a variety of enigmatic props, ready to undergo a transformation.

The abstract, vintage aesthetic lends a sense of mystery and ambiguity to the concept, whilst the vibrant cinematography and atmospheric effects pay homage to videos of the early 80's.

Tratt has explained that Wake Up is about the tension between conforming and being one's true self. “Realising it’s too easy to put on a mask to the outside world and caving under the pressure to shape ourselves into a society-conforming mould, to feel accepted, we follow the lead of influential people and hide away our honest-self and unfiltered lives. 

"The video concept expands on this theme through a physical metamorphosis, awakening our insecurities and transforming them into a unique confidence.”
