Mitch Kalisa brings us intimate scenes from a deteriorating relationship for J Appiah’s Bitter x Sweet.

Kalisa guides J Appiah through a traumatic heartbreak and lost love as Appiah asks a loved one to save him again from the fear of being alone. We see Appiah sitting by himself at times in deep thought, intercut with memories with a loved one focusing on the interaction.

Isolated visuals of hands touching faces, laying down together on the floor with limited touching to sudden movements stemming from anger and frustration of breaking apart.

Kalisa uses warm colours of orange and yellow, sped-up scenes and haunting shadows to reflect the mind state of Appiah and his partner going through an inevitable break-up.
