filous & The Kooks 'Hey Love' by Tobias Pichler
Tobias Pichler reunites with Austrian producer filous (aka Matthias Oldofredi) for his collab with Brit indie stalwarts The Kooks, and another outing of silliness, with perhaps something more profound lurking in there somewhere.
For the previous Pichler-directed video for Monday, filous played Percy, a shy and awkward lad on a dating show. For Hey Love, everyone is decked out in 18th century finery, and filous plays the enthusiastic conductor of a musical performance - by The Kooks.
It begins with Kooks' frontman Luke Pritchard wondering why he is in period costume, and what he has let himself in for. He remains unconvinced as they begin, but filous' outgoing Amadeus-like enthusiasm as he conducts the band is unreserved - and it makes it's mark on their performance.
Turns out a conductor has quite a lot in common with a producer.
