Yoni Weisberg has devised a euphoric and mesmerising world in a video that heralds the long-awaited return of Manchester band Doves.

Weisberg's video for Carousels (featuring a sample of the late Tony Allen's legendary drumming) introduces us to his new reality, where brutalist architecture is deconstructed, and comes apart from regimented reality. It's engrossing, constantly engaging, and when the viewer comes to terms with this world, the director introduces into a new level of abstraction to help twist the reality further.

“As soon as the opportunity came up to create a video for an iconic band in Doves I knew that it was one which I couldn’t let slip through my fingers," says Weisberg. "The development of the creative approach was very collaborative with the band and they’ve been both brilliant partners and incredibly supportive all throughout the creation of the video for Carousels.

"When we started on the road with this project the world was in a very different place but in the end I think there is something rather serendipitous about having made a video which takes the world somewhat as we know it, then turned it on it’s head to create something almost unrecognisable.”
