AVES ft. JFDR 'Gem Of The Ocean' by Harun Güler
Harun Güler creates a moody visual world for AVES' single Gem of the Ocean to inhabit.
Pairing Icelandic artist JDFR's haunting vocals with the jarring narrative of a self-destructive relationship between two young partygoers, the video is unnerving and captivating. Shot on 16mm film, the visuals are intimate and sexually charged, a celebration of the human body and soul, and a meditation on how our experiences transform and shape our emotions.
Crisp and sharp, the abundance of natural light is utilised to perfection, and the contrast between the bright performance scenes and dimly lit party setups represent the dark and the light in every situation. There is good and bad in everything, and the important thing is to enjoy the present, here and now, without constantly fretting over the past or future.
