Electric Litany 'Sealight' by Sakari Lerkkanen
Rob Ulitski - 27th Sept 2019
A man confronts a female representation of Death in the video for Electric Litany, directed by Sakari Lerkkanen.
This is the first music video to be released by the London based group, who have previously headlined Europe’s most acclaimed festivals and collaborated with the names such as Interpol, Archive and Alan Parsons. An artistic performance piece focusing solely on the two characters, we follow the man on his journey of accepting his demise and his faith, while the world around him pulsates between light and darkness.
The female representation of Death is inspired. Lerkkanen explains "Each one of us is brought into this world by a woman, which is why it makes sense that our departure would be with a woman as well."
With a beautiful colour palette of dark blues and golds, and dramatic backlit lighting, the visuals are cinematic and carefully composed, utilising strong lines and shapes to frame the actors.
