Chris Turner (aka Favourite Colour: Black) takes a slow-burning, minimalistic approach, crammed with intriguing black and white portraiture, for new duo Pinero|Serene.

Turner describes it as "a vision of flames and flesh with modern gothic imagery" with the focus on the details of the artists - bass player Cheryl Pinero and vocalist Neeq Serene - while they bare their souls.

"The inspiration came out of lots of conversations with Cheryl & Neeq," says Turner. "Some of the cut-away imagery I’d wanted to shoot on Phantom for a while, and they seemed to fit nicely with the ideas we had about capturing their performance. We wanted it to feel more like like visual - or moving portraits - than a music video."

Take My Soul is the pair's debut single, from a 4 track EP called Dark Matter, due for release July 12th.
