Yellow Days 'How Can I Love You?' by Jamie Whitby
Promonews - 1st Nov 2018
A beautifully-crafted low budget video for Yellow Days by Jamie Whitby, which takes this jazzy combo's frontman George from his garden deep into his subconscious, via a hole in the lawn.
It was all made possible by some excellent art direction by Jabez Bartlett, and weeks of careful stitching of the descent through the rooms of George's mind at The Mill. Meanwhile, the very promising up and coming director Jamie Whitby has just joined OB Management for music video representation.
JAMIE WHITBY:
"This video is a dive into Yellow Days's subconscious, based on a conversation we started together in the pub and ended four feet down a hole in Hampshire. If there's one thing I’ve learned from making it, it’s that getting a camera to move smoothly six feet straight up or straight down on a limited budget is up there with working with animals or discovering the Higgs Boson.
"As such there’s a very long list of thank yous - George himself for his amazing ideas and gentle notes along the way, producer Tim & HLA Films for all their support, Sam & OB Management for the hookup, commissioner Laura Clayton and everyone at Columbia who were a dream to work with, everyone at The Mill for slaving away for what seemed like weeks on the post, and last but not least our amazing crew, especially my boy Jabez Bartlett (can’t be many production designers out there who can do 10 sets in one day...)."
