Mount Kimbie ft. King Krule 'Blue Train Lines' by Raf Fellner & Tegen Williams
Luke Bather - 24th July 2017
Raf Fellner & Tegen Williams go on an archive dive in this curious information overload clip for Mount Kimbie.
Slow, creeping zooms into old AV equipment, nature, and rapid cutting of archival stills from old history books charts a strange story of a single native American man through the things he left behind. The ensuing video becomes a sparse study in our methods for gathering information for research. Without ever really populating the spaces depicted with humans beyond the occasional flash of the back of a head, the clip manages to tell a complex, nuanced story simply by presenting the artifacts in a cleverly edited sequence.
