VÉRITÉ 'When You're Gone' by Charlie Manton
Cat Velez - 22nd May 2017
Charlie Manton establishes a lurid and unsettling sci-fi scene for American singer VÉRITÉ's When You're Gone - in fact, perhaps the bleakest family dinner ever created.
Creepy, solemn cyborgs eat methodically in short bursts when a central computer directs them to do so, as Vérité keeps a close eye on the man with the controls sat opposite her. But when she decides to disconnect herself from the computer - all hell breaks loose in a glitchy system error - and the poor dinner guests are unable to avoid face-planting plenty of excellent-looking desserts in the process.
