Shot in Sweden, Mats Udd contrasts the upbeat Ghost by Claptone with some haunting and mythical imagery.
Skinny Days 'Alright Right Now' by Mats Udd
Mats Udd's video for Skinny Days' Alright Right Now was first released a couple of years ago, with very little fanfare. But since then, it has become the music video equivalent of an underground cult hit, that has kept gaining new enthusiasts, and a bunch of film festival awards all over the world. And you only have to watch to see why.
Essentially, its a group therapy healing session like no other, reeking in body horror but suffused with a satisfyingly sick sense of humour. A group of vulnerable unfortunates come under the influence of a sinister wheelchair-bound priest. And then the fun starts: people float, fly through walls, convulse uncontrollably and then there's a whole thing with some fingernails that probably isn't for the squeamish.
Nominated as Best Nordic Music Awards and Most Bizarre Video at the Berlin Music Video Festival last year, it also won prizes at Australia's biggest Horror Festival, the Upstate New York Horror Festival and Hong Kong Art House Festival. So it's about time you watched it too... if you dare.
