Xinobi 'Far Away Place' by Rui Vieira
More Desert Island Dance than Desert Island Discs, Rui Vieira's gorgeous sunrise video for Xinobi explores the serenity in taking some time for yourself.
Shot in reverse chronological order in two hours at sunset, and then pieced together to look like sunrise, the video shows a solitary dancer on a seemingly endless span of shoreline. The golden light of that time of day wrapping around the dancer (who is head to toe in pink) to create a scene of peaceful, necessary self-indulgence.
"For this second collaboration with Xinobi, I wanted to explore this idea of when you want to be alone, like if you were in your own Island. Sometimes you just want to be alone even if you are surrounded by everyone."
