Mimi Cave's dance film for Sylvan Esso is a stark and a beautiful, fluid work.

With a stark, desaturated colour palette and spartan set, and strung together to appear as one continuous movement, the video begins on its side before flipping and meandering through a stunningly visceral dance performance by Gary Reagan. Around the halfway mark is where things start to develop further from the violent choreography executed by Reagan, as we're introduced to a frozen audience and a harshly-lit brief change of location.

An incredibly physical and emotional piece of dance work that manages to depict a wild strength in vulnerability.
