GIRLI 'Girl I Met On The Internet' by Stroma Cairns
Luke Bather - 6th Oct 2016
London's Anti-Pop Princess GIRLI invites all her internet friends to party in this clip by Stroma Cairns.
Using a variety of media sources from still photographs and old DV cameras to more conventional HD footage, GIRLI parties away with an entourage of her closest friends (some of whom are actually girls she's met on the internet).
Taking some of the lyrics about i-D magazine aesthetics and youth culture and making an on-the-nose video around them is a clever piece of work that seems to both capture and satirize some of the cooler aspects of being young in 2016.
