Dirty Projectors 'Keep Your Name' by David Longstreth & Elon Rutberg
Cat Velez - 28th Sept 2016
The Dirty Projectors are back - releasing their new single Keep Your Name and an engrossing performance video along with it, co-directed by frontman David Longstreth and Kanye West’s creative director, Elon Rutberg.
With a solemn, monochromatic visual treatment and an occasionally quite off-kilter performance by Longstreth, we bear witness to his post-breakup schedule, which is filled up with piano playing, frantic doodling and guitar smashing.
It's a perculiar yet engrossing visual, pairing well with all the percussive quirks and self-sampling in a track about the inevitable yet confusing breakup of a disjointed couple.
