Snowblink 'How Now' by Scott Cudmore
Luke Bather - 22nd Sept 2016
A live performance with a stilted and discomfiting audience makes for some surreal and awkward viewing in this clip for Snowblink, directed by Scott Cudmore, continuing his run of bleak, darkly comedic, highly cinematic music videos.
Gorgeous settings and excellent costume offer the illusion that this wealthy family seem functional. But the moments in between the actions in this video show cracks in the family facade. Footage of avalanches physically tearing into a family portrait make the tense awkwardness of the performance seem almost unbearable, and yet there are moments so darkly absurd here that you can't help but laugh.
