John Maclean, ex-Beta Band member turned director - who made his first feature, the acclaimed Western Slow West last year - is also the brother of Django Django's drummer and producer David Maclean, and John's work with the band includes directing the lovely video for Hand Of Man (shown at BUG’s Because Music 10th anniversary special last month). Now he's spent a good chunk of time pulling together the video for the Djangos’ Life We Know. It’s essentially a time-lapse progression of an art project. 

“Every day I cut images from the the daily paper, images which caught my eye for one reason or another," he says. "Then, after six months, I decided to try and tell a story by linking them through montage - which became environmental and architectural without a great deal of curation from me.”
